Content of Course:
The course introduces students to practical book keeping and covers preparing a set of financial statements from source documents. The week concentrates on the practical problems that will be encountered.
The course covers by use of lectures and case studies:
- the principles of double entry book keeping
- books of prime entry
- sales and purchase ledgers
- nominal ledger including control accounts
- trial balance
- extended trial balance
- interpretation of accounts
- incomplete records.
